HotScoop is strongly committed
to protecting your privacy. The purpose of this document is
to inform our users what information we collect and how and
why we use information that we collect from people who use
the HotScoop site.
Disclosure
HotScoop will not share or sell to third parties any
individual information users provide us without the explicit
consent of our users. This insures that users won't receive
junk mail or third-party unsolicited e-mail as a result of
signing up for our service. The only e-mail users will get
as a result of signing up for HotScoop' services is
from HotScoop. (Although we sometimes send information
for advertisers at the end of our own e-mails.) We may, however,
share aggregate information with third parties, in order to
tell them more about our users. For example, we may tell potential
advertisers that 30 percent of our users are between the ages
of 18 and 30 (this statistic is an example only, not a real
statistic and we occasionally conduct voluntary e-mail surveys
of our users to acquire these facts); but we will not give
an advertiser a list of e-mail addresses, or tell them personal
information about individual users.
Third-Party Affiliates
HotScoop partners with many companies to help support
our free services. Users may choose to purchase services from
other companies that are publicized through HotScoop.
This privacy policy does not apply to information users give
to these other companies. Any information users give to another
company is governed by the rules of that company's privacy
policy that may be different than HotScoop'. HotScoop
takes no responsibility for information given to other companies;
please review these companies' privacy policies prior to your
purchase if you're concerned.
Cookies
Your browser offers so-called "cookies" which --
if you allow their use -- store small amounts of data on your
computer about your visit to our site. We assign many of our
users' cookies in order to assess the effectiveness of our
current marketing campaigns and track the usefulness of our
product. Cookies, by themselves, cannot be used to find out
the identity of any visitor. We will only store information
provided voluntarily. A cookie cannot read data off your hard
disk. However, cookies tell us nothing about you personally
unless you specifically give us additional information. These
cookies are not used to personally identify your surfing patterns,
and disabling them will not affect the service.
Privacy Policy Changes
HotScoop reserves the right to change
this privacy policy at any time.
If we decide to alter our policy
that would affect the use of your
personally identifiable information,
we will post the new policy here.
In addition, we will communicate
the policy change via e-mail, explaining
the alteration and reiterating the
process for opt-ing out of further
communication and use of your personal
information. From that point onward
the site will be governed by the
new documents.
